I can scarcely believe that this year it will be five years since we photographed Alex and Evonne’s wedding. They were our second-ever wedding clients. In a way time has stood still because we still have a copy of the wedding photography album from their Woburn Wedding on display in our studio and show it to all our prospective clients.

In the intervening years it’s been our privilege to become great friends with them and to watch their family grow. Ava is their second baby and my latest trip to their home was to photograph her along with two year old Kaian. Evonne’s sister and mum and dad came along so we took some family group pictures too.

Lorraine and John’s Wedding – Coltsfoot Wedding Photographer

Readers of this blog won’t be surprised to learn that Karen and I love photographing weddings at Coltsfoot Country Retreat. We’re thrilled to be recommended Coltsfoot Wedding Photographers. Coltsfoot is a hidden gem in the Hertfordshire countryside. A self contained wedding venue with luxurious rooms on site it is ideal for a wedding of sixty or seventy people.

We knew from their pre-wedding shoot that Lorraine and John’s wedding day would be a wonderful relaxed informal day. And that is how the day unfolded. There were so many lovely moments during the day that their set of photographs has a contemporary reportage wedding photography feel.

This was our last wedding of 2011 and one of our favourites. Lola (our super-talented picture editor) has designed Lorraine and John the most fabulous Fine Art Folio album which is currently in production. We can’t wait to see it. We hope you enjoy this selection of images from it:

Amy and Paddy’s Wedding – Stratford Wedding Photographer

Amy and Paddy were married in the church in Amy’s home village of Snitterfield near Stratford-Upon-Avon in September. This is a beautiful part of the country close to an area where Karen and I lived when we were first married. Amy’s mum and dad’s home has lovely gardens and plenty of space so a fabulous marquee in the garden proved to be the ideal reception venue.

Lovely locations, a beautiful bride, dashing groom and a lovely Indian summer day made Amy and Paddy’s a wonderful wedding to photograph. Here are some of our favourite images:

Hannah and Dave’s Wedding – The Elvetham Wedding Photographer

We had looked forward to Hannah and Dave’s wedding all summer. We’d got to know Hannah and Dave really well during their pre-wedding shoot and knew that their day was going to be full of fun. Add in a fusion of cultures (Hannah’s mum is from Norway) and an amazing venue in The Elvetham and we knew we were in for a treat. Even the weather was kind with the forecast heavy rain thankfully staying away.

The Elvetham has lots of wonderful interior locations for photographs. This is worth bearing in mind if photographs are important to you just in case the weather is unkind on the day. Hannah and Dave were lucky to be able to make the most of the fabulous grounds – including the avenue of trees made famous by Benny Hill’s sketch. A superb fireworks display ended the evening in style.

Hannah and Dave’s Jorgensen wedding album is truly gorgeous. We hope that you enjoy this selection of images from it.

Renee and Sean’s Wedding – Hertfordshire Wedding Photographer

Renee and Sean were married at Priory Barn in Little Wymondley last August. This was a truly family affair with sons Connor and Cian being a very special part of the day. They looked fabulous in their kilts! A brace of Bentleys provided great photo opportunities. As always Karen spent the morning with Renee who had her work cut out getting herself ready as well as two excited kids! The morning Martin spent with the guys was a more relaxed affair – when he arrived Sean was calming his nerves by polishing one of the cars.

The ceremony with the children in close attendance was wonderful and the registrar was superb. A fabulous reception followed and we had great fun photographing it. Hope you enjoy this small selection of images from the day.

Is White the New Black?

Our gorgeous hand-made Jorgensen wedding albums come in a fabulous range of leathers, fabrics and even wooden finishes. Most couples choose a classic leather with white pages and a contrasting black edge to the page. They look timeless and beautiful and will do so for years. But recently we’ve noticed a trend back to white albums and now more and more couples are choosing white page edges too.

Simple, clean and very ‘wedding’. What do you think?

Charlotte and Suj’s Wedding – The Sculpture Gallery Woburn Wedding Photographer

Here are a few of our favourite images from Charlotte and Suj’s wedding earlier this year. Their wedding was at The Sculpture Gallery at Woburn Abbey which as regular readers will know is one of our all-time favourite wedding venues. We are lucky enough to photograph at the Sculpture Gallery several times each year and we still get the same thrill every time.

Charlotte and Suj are a delightful couple and it was a real privilege to capture their special day in photographs.

Charlotte wore a gorgeous Vera Wang gown and I mustn’t forget to mention the amazing Jimmy Choos!

Robert and Stephen’s Civil Partnership – South Farm Photographer

Robert and Stephen’s civil partnership ceremony was at the fabulous South Farm, the same venue where we first met Rob when he was best man for Oliver and Hannah a year before. We’d been looking forward to their celebration all year and it more than lived up to expectations. The weather was kind for their outdoor ceremony and there were gorgeous details that we love to photograph. Of course the day was completely stolen by Wags the dog….

Photographs from Susan and Daniel’s Wedding at Grims Dyke Hotel

Sue and Dan were married earlier this year at Grims Dyke Hotel in Harrow. It was our first visit to this wonderful venue and I hope it isn’t our last. It has beautiful grounds and a fabulous interior that is perfect for photography.

Sue and Dan’s wedding was a perfect day and they were obviously so happy and in love. The VW camper van added a fun twist to the transport arrangements and was great for photos!

Nicola and Philip’s Wedding at Northampton Cathedral and Reception at Woburn Sculpture Gallery

Nicola and Phil were married earlier this year at the spectacular Northampton Catholic Cathedral. Their reception afterwards was at The Sculpture Gallery at Woburn Abbey – one of our favourite venues that will be familiar to many readers of this blog. Between the wedding and the reception we had, lets just call it an ‘interesting’ journey following the lovely vintage Rolls Royce as it made gentle progress.

As always Karen and I worked together to capture Nicola and Phil’s day in pictures. It was a truly fabulous day and we’re delighted to share a few of our favourite photographs here.
